Eden Toys Inc produced a collection of Babar plush/soft toy characters – each character is labelled Eden Toys Inc, copyright Random House 1977.
My Uncle who lives in the USA sent over an Eden Babar for me as a small child. Babar went everywhere with me during my childhood and I always hoped to find his Celeste. As my Babar is American of origin, I recently decided to look on ebay.com and to my delight found other Eden 1977 Babar characters.
The fact that there are old and unwanted Eden Babar 1977 characters being sold on ebay makes me sad. Some are well played with and others can be found in mint condition, however, no matter their state, I just feel that I need to give these elephants a new home to see out their old age (after all some must be around thirty years of age like me), and as such, the Babar Rescue Centre was established in 2008.
